Any company/establishment with 10 or more employees (in some states, the threshold is 20).

Step 1: Collect Required Documents
Keep the following documents ready:
Certificate of incorporation / Partnership deed / Shop & Establishment certificate.
PAN card of business and employees.
Address proof of establishment.
List of employees with salary details.
Bank account details of the company.
Digital signature of the employer.
Step 2: Online Registration on ESIC Portal
Visit the ESIC official portal www.esic.in.
Click on “Employer Login” → “Sign Up”.
Fill in details such as company name, employer details, and email.
Generate a unique employer ID and password.
Step 3: Fill in Employer Registration Form (Form-01)
Enter establishment details.
Provide employee information (name, date of joining, salary).
Submit details of business activities.
Step 4: Upload Supporting Documents
Upload scanned copies of PAN, incorporation certificate, proof of address, employee details, etc.
Step 5: Payment of Contribution
Employer contributes 3.25% of wages, and employee contributes 0.75% of wages.
Contributions must be deposited monthly through the ESIC portal.
Step 6: Receive Registration Certificate (C-11)
After successful verification, the employer receives a 17-digit registration number.
This is the ESI Registration Certificate, which is used for future compliance.
Maintain employee records and update details on ESIC portal.
Submit monthly contributions before the 15th of the following month.
File half-yearly ESI returns (April–September & October–March).
Display ESI registration certificate in the establishment.
Interest @ 12% per annum for delaayed payments.
Penalties up to 25% of contribution amount.
Possible prosecution for willful evasion.
